Vintage Japanese Lacquer Trinket Box Hikone Screen Genre Painting Scene 10"

This vintage Japanese lacquer storage box features an exquisite lid design showcasing a traditional genre painting scene inspired by the historic Hikone Screen. The artwork beautifully depicts courtly figures and traditional musicians gathered together on a gold-toned background. The dark wooden box is accented with a pressed, ornate gold paper foil trim and opens to a vibrant, bright red fabric-lined interior.
Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition. The embossed gold paper foil trim shows noticeable areas of cracking, peeling, lifting, and small paper loss along the seams and edges as pictured.
